About Brett
Originally hailing from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, musician Brett Matthews brings a
refreshing take to the americana genre by combining an eclectic list of influences from RnB,
Pop to Country and Folk, to create a unique expression that is melancholic, nostalgic and
beautifully musical. He shares similarities with Bon Iver, City & Colour, Wintersleep and
Novo Amor.
In 2019 Brett started playing guitar for Canadian hip-hop artist Classified’s touring band,
and since then has played over 50+ shows with large crowds all across Canada.
Brett’s latest single “Tomorrow” is Out Now.
comes from a dark, but hopeful place. With Brett's mix of soft vocals and strong
message to push on and fight to hold on, the song takes you on the journey of finding, and
of ering help for those who need it most. "Tomorrow may never come" is in reference to how
we are never promised tomorrow, so we should be living in the moment, and be the most
present with ourselves and those around us as we deserve to be.
